Lee went to Newfoundland to attend dog shows on behalf of the CKC. That means there was an early morning scramble to get lots of little jobs done before leaving for the airport. Including arranging the Audobon tiles to be set in front of the living room fireplace so the flooring project could be finished in that room. There is no doubt that there would have been far more agonizing over the placement of the pheasant versus the hummingbird had there been more time. For once Ken was actually happy to be able to say the plane would not wait regardless of the criticality of the robin's positioning. In retrospect . . .
Chantelle was up to her ears in work, sorting out the new car's bells and whistles and organizing her week end. There were dogs to be groomed and time to be carved out to watch the German Shepherd Specialties. As usual there will be no grass growing under those feet Saturday or Sunday. Ken was gardening and acting as Runner-In-Chief for the flooring project. His big news was that there is a new flooring outlet in the Village attached to Home Hardware and they have "everything". What that word means to a man, only another man can fathom.
And then there are dogs. The house crew are never happy to see Lee accompanied by a suitcase

and Piper, Nick and the Norwich expressed their displeasure as the exodus occurred. There was lots cooked to be added to dinners but losing Lee is not a happy moment for the kitchen dogs.
The boarders are increasing and Chantelle decided that Friday

was a good time for a little dog party in the big run. Roddi and Ruari - aka the little white dogs - had arrived as had Kelsee the Australian and Zoe the Welsh. Abigail and Trebia are still with us and all went out together.
The game was on. Trebia the Cirneco runs like the wind. Kelsee

was mightily impressed and wanted to keep up with her new hero and around they went. As Trebia lapped Kelsee, she simply jumped over her and kept going. When Roddi couldn't stand it any longer, he simply went over and flipped the Aussie who interpreted that as a new and delightful game. Roddi is now her hero. Zoe is in the senior category and showed off her best trick - rolling on her back in the grass. The rest were mystified!
Hershey is back and enjoying the adjoining yard as only a Lab can. KC misses Apollo but will teach Hershey Airedale tricks given time and opportunity.

Stay tuned for Newfoundland stories.
