The weather was a bit wet - not a bad thing given summer in the offing and water tables that are not high. Grass is growing at a great rate, trees are filling in with leaves and flowering trees are blooming. There are still late tulips. The candles have formed on the chestnut tree but are not yet in bloom. The magnolia has been magnificent, an amazing thing given it's first year on the property. The resident pheasants are still in the front yard, underwhelmed by Lee and Marguerite's comings and goings. Einstein is out of sorts, having only the majority of the house to roam and not able to sleep in his best spots upstairs due to the arrival of the puppies. Our Ken is working to trap and release a resident raccoon - all is normal at Regalridge.
The kennel is well and happy. Coby is keeping Gabe occupied. Scarlett is back for the week and looking after Bailey. Bailey is now on Glyco Flex and is moving about with much greater ease. Bella is in charge of everything and happy to oblige. Lola is sharing her thoughts freely, egged on by little Viola. The two have a regular party going on.
Piper had a hiccup and is with our Vet for a couple of days. Lee is working with Marguerite and her new family so wouldn't have been sleeping anyway. The Airedale babies are doing well and Marguerite is thriving. Lots of attention and a full time person to do her bidding lives up to Marguerite's exacting expectations. This is a period of welcoming the little ones to the world, ensuring each is eating well and beginning to gain weight. They are beautiful puppies - perhaps all puppies are beautiful but we each love our own breed - and are enjoying being hand fed as well as taking all that their mother has to offer. Marilla heard that thunder storms were forecast for the late evening and requested her thunder shirt. The rest of the crew chuckled.
Meals are quick - the very good Chinese restaurant in the village helped out today.
